Straight Outta Lynwood by Weird Al Yankovic. At the time, I didn’t know any of the songs he was parodying so they were just good songs to me. This album and City of Evil by Avenged Sevenfold were the first albums I had on my Generation 1 iPod so I was set!
Easy. It’s Scatman (ski-ba-bop-ba-dop-bop) by Scatman John!
All That We Have Now by Fear, And Loathing in Las Vegas. I first heard this band in the intro for the anime Kaiji and Parasyte: The Maxim. I just rewatched Kaiji and was like “Why haven’t I ever listened to full albums from this band?” so yeah, it’s so sick! I’m definitely taking inspiration from them for my new album.
Duvet by the band Boa. It was used as the intro to my favorite anime Serial Experiments Lain and is probably my all-time favorite song! It is the most 90s song ever and holds so many memories for me. Everything about it is perfect.
Let Go by Avril Lavigne. I think I would do a fantastic job!!!
Oil of Every Pearl's Un-Insides by Sophie. This album is extremely emotional for me for many reasons, and is currently too overwhelming for me to listen to. I don’t think it will ever go back to being a frequent listen but it is my favourite album.
Iowa Dream by Arthur Russell. I think people kind of expect me to like "bad" music at this point (because I do!) so the most unexpected choice would actually be one of the more stripped-down singer-songwriter albums that I love. This is a fantastic and beautiful album, perfect for driving your mom to the airport at 6AM!
